This week I’m in Vancouver for the Interior Design Show (IDS). I haven’t had much of a chance to spend time in Vancouver apart from a quick drive-through and stop for lunch on the way to Whistler last year, but I remember being so struck by the architecture as we drove into the city. Vancouver is a city of glass and neutral colored building materials that allow the beauty of the surrounding water to reflect off of the towering buildings. It’s a sparkling sapphire city that I can’t wait to explore.
So in anticipation of my first real opportunity to get to know Vancouver, I put together a design for a living space inspired by a piece of beautiful Vancouver architecture (the Evergreen Building) that allows the natural world around it to truly shine — my favorite kind of design!
